Description
Perhaps she intended the monarchy to fall and be replaced by some other form of government? All hail Prime Minister Twilight Sparkle!
This idea is both funny and plausible.
Her exact comment: “If it were up to me, there would be only 2.” >>33001
I think it’s reasonable to assume she also meant that she would not have turned someone into an alicorn later on (and that is what I believe), but I can see someone thinking she left that loophole open intentionally.
@Zennistrad
I’m interested in what her original plans were, but it doesn’t affect my enjoyment of the show as it is. (Nor do I always like what she had planned; I’d rather Twilight not succeed Celestia, for example.)
Frankly, I don’t give a shit what Faust’s original plans for FiM were.
I still like the show as it is and I won’t waste time wishing it was different.
Well, she did say there would not have been more alicorns than Luna and Celestia, so I don’t get what is there to discuss.
Well, no. (And I’m one of those who’s said it hasn’t been obvious from the beginning.) Lauren Faust denying that she’s said she would have turned Twilight into an alicorn or a princess is not the same as her saying that she would not have done so. (Though that would be the smart way to bet.)
Er, the source link will take you there.
And in case someone does edit the source link:

As of this moment (mods, is it possible to lock in a source link?) it’ll take you directly to that comment on deviantArt.

Faust said that she will reveal it one day. But once the series is long over and if people still give a shit about it. Probably because she dosen’t want to let fans compare it to the actual series or she dosen’t want to show spoilers of episodes that might still happen.
ITT: Trying too hard.
Many Twilight episodes, you mean?
It’s always fun to stir the pot and tip over the glass.
@The_Mungoman
Yup. I’m sticking by my headcanon that only mares can become alicorns because any and all alicorns are princesses, representing all 3 pony races in one unified being which makes alicorns “Special” and thus gives the target audience something to relate to because all little girls are special.
All part of Hasbro’s marketing plan.
Because they sell.
You had the same vision as me.
We can argue about if it should have been a series closer (if it had been i would be satisfied). But the way i see it, it can open so many possibilities for future episodes.
Am i the only one who thinks that just because Twilight is an Alicorn now dosen’t make her all powerful?
I mostly had the feeling that Twilight Sparkle was destined to be a great magic user and that friendship was to help her reach that goal. It was apparent that she was powerful in Cutie Mark Chronicles. It showed that she got stronger in magic as the show progressed. I thought she might become as powerful as powerful as an alicorn but I expected that would be near the end of the show.
