That’s fair
Same, I think. 😅😥
I mean I like the message of the image, even if the wording is vague
Yup, we so seldom have the “I’m glad I grew up with this, but this is good too.” mentality but more “it’s either this, or that, no in between.”
Or perhaps just not as much as we enjoy tearing each other down (sadly)
I dunno, I always thought MYM was the better of the two series, so I can’t really imagine what flaws there are that are especially apparent in it that force you to be negative
Even without a G5 perspective, a lot of the early worldbuilding for G4 consisted of “make a horse pun for a real world place”
Touché
What were you expecting when you were typing up the description?
I’ll be honest, I was anticipating future content after the movie. That all changed when the episodes actually came out. It felt like a 180 degree turn. Like I’m sorry, but it does feel off. Even without a G4 mindset the rest of G5 feels shallow on its own. And when inconsistent G4 stuff is brought up it forces me to talk about it. I wanted to like it, I really did, but it was kinda like finding a needle in a haystack. I can make a list of it but I’m afraid people will shit on me for it, even if I do have decent points.

What are you saying?
Sounds like you care more about G5 than actual G5 fans. You must really love it to focus so much on it.
Idk if I’m reading that last part wrong, but there are blatant issues (mostly in MYM) that’s hard to not be negative about. My biggest guess as to why people go so hard against G5’s flaws (actual ones) is simply because it’s a sequel series. The feel of something degrading something that was beloved by many (even with its own flaws) feels a lot more impactful in some way. This is what I’ve been saying for the longest time, if G5 was a separate series with its own universe instead of basing of a previous one can cause backlash, depending on how things are written. There actually are examples of a sequel series being more successful than the original.

You see there’s your first red flag, so red people stop and wait for it to turn green
As long as there’s another stipulation that people are free to take the suggestions under advisement, or ignore them, and be respectful of when people say they don’t really want suggestions, then that’s fair (but I understand it’s a matter of degrees)
Some people take it very differently. I was dog piled once and the emotional pain was unbearable. I have autism so it was even worse and was harder to ignore. I wasn’t told to kms specifically but those people were legit jerks to me. I doubt you understand the pain how other folks feel. Not everyone is the same.

The designs for G5 are definitely diverse in TYT, you are right. Being told to KYS is a very normal response on twitter, so yes I am ignoring that, as should you. Twitter users opinions don’t matter, they dedicate their lives to being nasty.
Bronies are bronies. We don’t separate who also likes G1 and who likes G3. The idea that G5 fans are so unreasonable that they must be kept away from the rest of the fandom is really depressing. G4 has had some really toxic fans, and we’ve since gotten rid of them. Not that you can really ban someone from a fandom, but we sure don’t welcome their sort to places like this. I’m sure what we’re seeing is those same sorts latching onto the new fandoms that spring up. It’s what happened to the Steven Universe fandom. This is a temporary problem that will go away in time… And will probably reappear for G6 sadly.
I got in trouble a full year ago: for telling someone they were looking real lame for crying over mistreatment to a fictional character. And then for telling someone else their black and red OC hit all the bad stereotypes and then some.
I did not do it tactfully, and that’s what I’d do differently now, but I’d still do it again. Though… What does that have to do with anything here??? I’ve been a member there for 13 years and have barely ever got in trouble. Was this the only dirt on me that existed? That’s… Pretty cool to find out.
