I do expect a lot of the grumbling to … well still be grumbling but have begrudging “…okay so it wasn’t as bad as I thought and I may have liked some of it, but I still believe it was a misstep.”
God I hope so.
That’s what made the Brony fandom so great in the first place. None of the cynical horseshit from the rest of the Internet (exceptions such as Ponibooru’s horrible community aside), just good old lighthearted fun.
And then the fun died when /mlp/ was born.
And that is worth writing to Princess Celestia about! (I’m not kidding that was profound!)
If the past year was about bronydom’s descent into cynicism and disappointment, I think the next age may be marked by a rediscovery of the fun side and the realization that redemtption is not as difficult as it seems.

Most people who disliked the concept still dislike it, they just moved from actively speaking out against it to subdued grumbling. I expect the same to occur with Equestria Girls. Don’t equate the simmering down of passions with acceptance.
