Maybe they meant it to be kindaa looking like an envelope of sorts? By association. Because it’s a red background. Chinese New Year is a holiday during which Chinese people buy red envelopes and postcards to congratulate each other, it can be physical or digital. I don’t know if Hasbro China actually did any with MLP/MLP G5, I only saw Filly Funtasia doing so. Maybe for MLP there’s just a visual association and nothing more. Or it’s just for this post. I don’t have means to check sadly.
