I’ve seen The Secret of NIMH so many times I could recite the whole thing from memory, pretty much. I have it in every video format it was ever released in, including ßetamax and CED.
I dunno… they’re adorable and we kinda want to keep them as pets but then we eventually realize they’re sentient and we let them run off into the world and become wistful about their departure?
There are these new things called “puns” that play on two words/names!

The name Briskby has nothing to do with Mrs. Brisby/Frisby, it’s based on the word “Brisk”
You should! The Secret of NIMH has been one of my most favorite animated movies of all time.
Heh—long ago, my parents just bought it for me because they were tired of me constantly renting it. I was thrilled! :D
I really wish they’d animate more of the books, either way. Marlfox and Taggerung especially.
I wouldn’t bother with the Redwall adaptation. It was made to be “more kid-friendly”, so most of the hilariously gruesome deaths and actually dramatic scenes get replaced with slapstick, IIRC. That is NOT the case with The Secret of NIMH, though. It’s pretty badass.
Cue the “Flying Dreams” instrumental!
