In my headcannon, parallel versions of these two be warriors from Ming Dynasty China. Rainbow being similar to Muwlan in being a she-memebr dressing as a man to protect her dad, and Soarin accepting more for her heart than her gender. And also to make it mroe awesome, a Doctor Who crossover with Sontarans (fitting since Ming Dynasty China involves both guns and melee weapons as them).
