If it can crack coconuts AKA nature’s cannonballs with its claws, that gives me enough of a reason to stay away from it.
And while it’s hardly proven, there’s apparently a theory in some corners than when Amelia Earhart’s plane went down she was injured but still alive after, and the coconut crabs finished her off. One tiny mouthful at a time.
Yes, it’s a real crab, but they aren’t really very dangerous, dispite they can crack coconuts with their claws. Hense why they’re called “Coconut crabs.” They tend to climb trees for food, which is why that one is on a trash can.
I remember how when I first saw that photo, I thought, ‘What an obvious photoshop’.
And then I discovered that it wasn’t. Yikes.
