It becomes acceptable when you read the fanfic series by BlackRoseRaven. His version of Luna wields a spear and is pretty fuckin’ badass.
I’d kill to see someone make a good ponified Artorias.
Are you the artist? If so, that was a rather pathetic reason. Choosing Luna over Celestia just because color scheme so that she doesn’t contrast with the picture? That is really pathetic, man.
The choice was between Twilight and Luna due to the color scheme. While Twilight has done a lot of pretty cool things, I pictured Luna as being more likely to grit her teeth and do the actual dirty work of putting Artorias down. That’s really all it was.
Thematically, I wanted Celestia, as she has the whole sun motif going, but it would have really jarred with the rest of the composition.
I agree on the last part, but as you must have already observed, my complaint is that Luna has the crushing majority of the badass art and being badass in general while herself having done nothing worthy of such praise in order to justify it. She only showed us that she is on her period on Nightmare Night. And don’t get me started on just how Luna is overated and undeserving of her popularity.
Gonna have to agree with Molly, there’s never enough bad ass ponies in general and as Psychopomf said she fits this role well. So when do we get to see Celestia vs Gwyn?(Pretty please)
