I’m not saying anything about current Equestria and its titles, since it’s very different from how things were treated in Twilight’s time, just that Twilight was officially made a princess by Celestia at the same time she became an alicorn.

Sunny could become a full-fledged flesh and blood alicorn, she could become a princess, she could become both, or even neither. I don’t know how they plan to do Sunny’s character arc in the future.

Okay, lets say I believe you. Does that mean all Alicorns are royalty? If so, would both Sunny and Opaline be royalty? Or is Sunny only half-royalty due to her wings currently only being temporary? Or is she not royalty at all due to ponies no longer following the feudal system of FiM? And where does Queen Haven fit into all of this? She is royalty, despite not being an Alicorn.

Um, what? Twilight’s ceremony in the season 3 finale was called her Princess Coronation, Celestia stated she was a princess, and she was called Princess as her official title dozens of times by many different characters before Season 9.

The Season 9 finale was her becoming the crowning ruler of Equestria, not her becoming a princess.

The way I see it, Wayne, is that Tell your Tale takes place after Make your Mark, and as such Sunny developed her abilities a bit more in the latter series.
In MyM we already saw how Sunny’s powers are activated (effectively whenever she does something empowering), and as such her being able to master that does make sense. The real hurdle, really, was finding out how the power is activated in the first place. Keep in mind its still halfway-the power isn’t permanent-but it does show that Sunny has come a long way regarding the development of her abilities. I just hope they keep that consistent in the next season of MyM, or whatever comes next in MLP G5.

So I’m guessing in TYT she can activate it on command but it’s the opposite in MYM.

Even though her wings look transparent, you can actually touch them. The episode ali-conned showed us that.

Um, I think that she could become a full Alicorn way before that, my friend. That ‘final ascention’ sounds more like Sunny becoming a Princess, which is not the same thing as becoming an Alicorn (Twilight being a notable example-when she was Alicornified she wasn’t a Princess. That didn’t come till S9).
I could see Sunny getting her permanent Alicorn abilities next year, and S3 would have her learning how to adapt to using them.

It won’t happen right away, but it is possible that there will be an ascension so that Sunny can become a complete alicorn instead of an earth pony with alicorn powers. This could come several years from now, possibly when she meets Twilight. (the real Twilight)

Sunnycorn is back! Love to see it so much!

Now if only her wings and horn could be made permanent…
