You do you, but my preferred playstyle is to almost always go with the Homewrecker. It (metaphorically) kills me if I’m near a friendly Engineer’s buildings being sapped, and not being able to remove the sapper.
Edited
We have Homewrecker for that, and honestly it’s more efficient to burn the Spies and let Engineers deal with sappers.
My favorite alternate use for it is when I want to do both pyrosharking and defense for an Engineer on my team - though it takes two hits instead of one, it’s still better than not being able to do anything about sappers.
Because other than the Pyroshark gimmick which is basically a joke or for fun, it has no better use on land. There are so many better melee weapons for Pyro. No point in changing a weapon that no one uses seriously.
Looking at the update history, it seems as though it’s never received a major rebalancing, nerf, or buff. https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Neon_Annihilator
Probably nothing. Maybe I just sucked.
What changed to make it more difficult?
