Same for me. I watched the initial animated film an the first couple of episodes that came out of Netflix, but I couldn’t keep following.
I have nothing against people who like G5, but its premise destroys G4’s legacy.
The message behind the initial scene of the first film was basically “Remember all the struggles and adversities the previous main characters had to face? Remember all the insecurities and differences they had to overcome in the name of friendship and the greater good? Well, it was all for nothing”.

That being said I can see why so many don’t like G5 considering it takes a dump on everything that the girls did at the end of the series plus we still haven’t been told what happened to everyone other then the obvious.
Yeah, honestly, I tried giving it an earnest watch and I just… No. It’s not right. They should have just made this an alternate universe like the other generations were.

I still hate myself for not giving this G4 a chance when it was popular ( various reasons for that from people during middle school making fun others who did to just thinking that this show for little girls was going to be good) now I’m a casual fan of the show and a fan of the mane six ( mostly love fluttershy but I like all of them) and the show is already over.

And I still think Twilight Sparkle pulled a Luke Skywalker and is still in hiding in the mountans a few decades after the events of The Last Problem due to something that New Equestria doesn’t know about yet that still haunts her.
This scenario is still possible. Especially considering that Twilight may have ascended to become a star as seen in C3 - the Wishing Star. And it is Sunny’s destiny - her name is “Starscout” - to find Twilight.

All fine and dandy, but does anyone realy believe this is canon? How do you think it will hold on in MYM and TYT show? Because if Discord is alive and reformed, they should be mentioning him often in the new chapter as the most powerfull being in Equestria who knows everything about Twilight, Opaline and magic being sealed and entire history of Equestria pre and post Twilight.
