Eh, we don’t know what maturity level alicorns have before they stop “aging”, and Celestia and Luna may have just retired because they were bored of doing the same thing for thousands of years, “aging out”.
Technically Alicorn’s aren’t immortal. If they were Twilight would not age and Celestia or Luna woudn’t need to retire.
