Yep, just demonize me as if I’m not here, when the conversation had already ended. I’m done.
After double checking to make sure it was the same person, I am no longer surprised how quickly this escalated into crazy shouting. Blackbewhite2k7 seems to have an extremely short fuse in general.

I’d hardly consider this a “shitstorm” by any definition, and no offense meant but until you came and got angry about things (which I guess I can understand if you feel you were being attacked, though I don’t think it was the case) I don’t think this was even a debate as much as it was a discussion. Again, nobody is bashing you or the picture here, or even Raridash. Yeah I don’t like it, but it’s just my own opinion about it, and I’m not saying it’s horrible like it’s a fact or telling you to draw something else or whatever.
I think it’s pretty presumptuous, bordering on offensive for you to suggest that I ‘follow you around’ like I have nothing better to do with my time, or like I’m going out of my way to harass you or am being “mean spirited”. I look at a ton of art on this site and comment on a lot of different things, and the only reason I commented here was to contest the Rarity’s sexuality thing like I said. That’s it. So I’m guessing that you’re either just paranoid, or just like seeing or creating battles where there aren’t any for whatever reason. Good luck and have fun with that I guess.
One can disagree with subject material and still appreciate or upvote a pic based on its merits. In fact, I’d say that is exactly what one should do. We all have our preconceptions and biases.
My point is that, the joke I made with this picture is ridiculously obvious with even a second of thought, and the fact that it’s gone over so many people’s heads (and sparked this little shitstorm) is nothing short of absurd.
I’m honestly surprised I got a decent score given the attitudes in the comments section.
Second off, if you don’t enjoy raridash why are you even on this picture, and why do you insight to follow me around as you do? Obviously we have nothing to say to one another, nor do I really think you’re going to like anything I have to offer, so it appears you just like to wag your finger at me endlessly whenever you can (I’ve seen you comment reply to me on other raridash pictures too) I’m sure your ships are plenty represented on this site, so why waste your time, here? Debating the merit of this ship with you never seems to go anywhere. So I’m guessing you’re just being mean spirited for the sake of it, because your ships are the only one the “make sense”.
I never said anything about your work, and I said that I think Raridash is a ridiculous ship. Which I do, I’ve heard yours and others arguments about it before and I still don’t see it sorry, but that’s my opinion and it’s neither here nor there. I didn’t come here and bash anything or to start an argument about anything, I came here to contest the idea that it’s outside the realm of possibility for Rarity to be interested in mares. You seriously need to learn how to chill out because you jump all over people who voice different opinions constantly, and it’s not doing you any favors.
Oh that’s good to know you can still shit all over my work and shipping, whilst being so nuanced and polite (to other people) about it.
I’m not even going to get into the fact that raridash makes perfect sense with just a little bit of thought and imagination again, because I’m talking to a brick wall with some of you people about it.
But this is a batman themed parody universe take on the characters in which Rarity is a crazy catlady who mostly shows interest in other mares (occasionally stallions), which is being feature in a blog with MANY alternate versions of rarity.
The whole “bat for the other team thing” was a pun…A JOKE…you know, and the BATMARE (BAT for the other team, as in she’s fiercely interested in batmare)
How obvious could I have possibly made that? No, instead it sparks a whole debate on homosexual shipping. Jesus H. Christ.
Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t saying that to defend this picture, because I doubt Rarity would ever be completely homosexual (plus I think Raridash is a ridiculous pairing). I just meant that, if the characters did have sexualities she could be bisexual in theory, since there’s never been anything to show that she is against the idea of being involved with another mare even if she has shown interest in stallions.
It doesn’t, necessarily, but it does in this OP. Did you read it? ‘bats for the other team’ is not slang for bi. I’d have probably just ignored it otherwise, but there ya go.

Bisexuality. Its not just for depraved deviants.
Its funny, specifically because Rarity is basically the one character whose sexual and romantic preferences are known and shown in both show and comic. Naturally, this doesn’t get in the way of fanon.
Hell, to draw a famous example, Captain Kirk is pretty glaringly heterosexual - alien, as long as it is female - and fanon immediately made him gay for Spock. Yeah, you can do it, but is it really anything to be proud of? You’re clearly just careening off into left field and saying “screw you, source material, I live in my OWN world and I follow my own rules, and usually not even those rules.”
The problem is with wild fanon in general; it just manifests in “hey, everyone is X (gay/mormon/black/martian) now.” Which is just weird and jarring. Every funnier: when fandoms are actually given gay/lesbian characters (like in Sailor Moon) they usually ignore them, and prefer to “make” characters gay rather than use the ones that exist!
Whatever. This has been going on for 40 years of fandoms. No one expects it will stop now, certainly not me. Ya gotta see how some people think it weird, though, picking the least obvious candidate and pulling a switcheroo on them.
The ponies on the show don’t have sexualities and they never will, it’s not like the cartoon is ever going to pair them up gay OR straight so it’s irrelevant. But, even if they did just because Rarity has been shown to flirt with stallions before doesn’t mean she couldn’t theoretically be interested in mares too.
There are several artist’s out there that ship rarity with several different ponies, males AND female…what’s it matter? I never claimed what I drew is canon.
