I been occupied lately, so I almost missed this debate, but might as well throw my thoughts in too.
Strikes me as odd how a site which not only harbors but in large part actively accepts Niggertron, God-king of political incorrectness, would take offense to the word faggot. Have i taught ya’ll niggas nothing? Have I not taught you bitches that by having insults lobbed at you, you diminish the power of those insults to hurt you?
Of course, I’m glossin over some shit. The original objection was that OP is a faggot images were being used as direct verbal attacks on members. While nigger is arguably more offensive than faggot, Niggertron is a fuckin boss, whereas OP is a fag images were intended to belittle the target of they derision. I’m flattered the mods think that my work is in a different class from these unoriginal ass image macros, but I find this distinction fairly arbitrary. Niggas who find such words offensive aint’ gon care how they used.
Ultimately, Clover’s decision is the right one. Provided they tagged right and are pony related, there’s no reason OP is a fag images, or any images really, shouldn’t be uploaded to DB. There’s a lotta nasty shit on here but the beauty of this site is that you control what you want to see. It is you the user who is placed in charge of what you get out of this site.
I for one, gon’ celebrate this as a triumph of freedom over political correctness.

Hey, no problem, I am the sites greatest dick after all, so I kind of deserve it if I am causing you so much trouble.
In any case, I just want to understand that I am not going to go storm the gates about the matter even I disagree, but I won’t stop disagreeing about the approach. On the other hand, I can understand you doing a cost-benefit analysis of giving people freedom to do things, or not, and concluding that you would rather not have those bothers be niggling at your feet, so in a way I guess I agree with what you are doing, despite disagreeing with what you are doing?
My point is, I’m just expressing my personal opinion and I meant nothing more with it. I was kind of surprised I got a response at all, actually.
Also, for the editing thing, changing from anonymous to your name could be a thing? I generally try to put my name to things which are more than just passing comments (like opinions) but sometimes forget to change it back(like that last background comment in here), so that would be kind of cool. Or I could stop being careless and actually check before posting, but that’s not the point.

This stuff just really grinds my gears. I don’t want the level of dialogue here to resemble that of “other places” and end up where every other comment is “>autism”, “you’re a raging faggot” or what have you other memetic half-joke insult. On my side, it’s less protecting other people, more not wanting to read comment after comment that look taken out of a problem neighborhood’s schoolyard.
Dude, I spend ours discussing with Smiling and still think he is wrong in his approach and is too preachy (plus a bunch of other mean stuff), and even I think you are an idiot if you think that.

Either way, you’d likely be surprised to know that I actually talk to, and more importantly listen to people that contribute to the site, not just random sites or tumblr links, but direct conversations with people. And you’re one of the things that comes up the most. So yeah, congrats.
If your next question is “can I see those conversations”, then my answers are, in order “no, there’s a thing called privacy”, “I don’t even know how to get logs from these various things” and “why should I?”.
I can’t be offended by that insult, no, so you guys shouldn’t worry too much about my feelings in that regard. I’m more concerned at being called the largest source of drama in Ponibooru and not even noticing.

After a dive, nothing much came up. Maybe I’m just forgetting comments I made, but I did find a comment about telling a transsexual that he is a women simply because he said so to be kind of not making much sense, which sounds like my personal position, but I can’t confirm if it’s me and in general my post wasn’t even the main part… so yeah, I’m not feeling like the greatest villain here, particularly when my comments are normally lost to the fray and always pointing out the same thing: mind over matter is a myth and you can’t simply rewrite reality with your mind. If I do have the odd honored of being the largest source of drama for derpibooru, and it is because of small comment than those rather than the far larger blocks, damn am I efficient.
Or is it all my Alicorn Twilight commentaries and my ever decreasing opinion of the supporters? Cause that I can totally understand.

In the end, though, it’s mostly opinions here. No use in fighting about it, so I’m sorry about that. And, in the end, I have no doubt that you can run this site far better than I could, just don’t let personal feelings get in the way.
When the content of the message is “being gay is bad”, then you’re damn right I’m going to judge it. And too many people have been whinging that this isn’t their beautiful, unmoderated ponibooru since day one.
If you want to call the OP a blithering idiot, go ahead. But don’t devolve into language that implicitly insults a group of people over their sexual orientation. That isn’t me being overly protective, that’s me expecting people to behave like adults and not children at recess.

I wouldn’t bother, this is, mostly, the ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH crowd; the people that would like to see this devolve into PB style moderation; ie. none at all, a free for all where no one is respected, spam and attacks run rampant and anyone expecting a minimum of decency or adult behavior is told to “deal with it”.
