Well that explains it.

When the movie first came out there wasn’t really any development with her (she probably had the least screentime, period), so she didn’t have much going for her for a while. But since then she’s had a lot of time to shine, and, as seen here on this site, she’s been very popular amongus the community recently. I’ve seen a few instances here where each character gets their own picture (such as a bust or whatev) uploaded individually and Pipp not only doesn’t have the least likes but, sometimes, she has the most out of all of them. Also, she has the third most tags here. Right after Izzy and Sunny. Which is honestly impressive considering she was one of the the last main characters they revealed. And even then, there wasn’t much content for her until the movie came out.

tl;dr pipp started off G5 with very little presence but quickly rose to the top with her amazingness as seen by her number of images and their scores compared to the other characters

Given how Pipp is characterized better since Tell Your Tale–and, in general, how Tell Your Tale and Make Your Mark have shifted some opinions on the characters–I think the results would be different in a more recent poll. Maybe Pipp’s percentage wouldn’t be so devastating.
I know my least favorite of the Mane 5 has changed since then.

Well Spike wasn’t very popular either. I don’t know about Sandbar and Gallus though.

G4 technically had two male leads for the Student Six, with Gallus and Sandbar both being a part of that group. So it isn’t the first time we have seen male characters in a team like this.

G4 had no male leads. G5 does. And not everyone can adjust to that. LOL

Obviously people on that site hate short people, and male characters (Hitch is best boy!)

Eh, I don’t like that aspect about her either. On the other hand, she does spend plenty of time away from her cell phone. For instance, she now runs a beauty salon, and she has helped the Mane Five with their chores on many occasions.

She still is an influencer, yes, but that’s not the only thing she does.

Since then Pipp has had a lot of time to develop, though, both in the Tell your Tale shorts as well as in the Make your Mark special. So I wouldn’t say she has ‘zero character development’ anymore.

It’s the “influencer” thing that keeps me from liking her. If she spent less time with her cell phone and paid more attention to her friends

This was probably done after the movie where Pipp had near zero character development.

Being the 5th best Pony is not bad there are so many ponies out there

I love Pipp. She’s my second favorite G5 character (her sister’s my favorite).
