I think having Rarity start getting a green tint in her eyes over Spike even talking to Moondancer would be a great way to start it out. Then at the library, over at Spike’s video game console, the other girls could be worrying about her and Rainbow and Twilight could go to her home to cheer her up. Rainbow could then convince Rarity to become her roommate until she is ready to talk to Spike again. Rarity would make a great Felix Unger, She’s fussy, dramatic and obsessively neat. Rainbow would make a great Oscar Madison, she’s not not afraid to get absolutely filthy, she’s laidback and she can get annoyed easily.

How about an “Odd Couple” inspired episode, where after the reemergence of an old girlfriend of Spike’s from his days in Canterlot causes an argument between them Rarity falls in to a depressive state and misses out on some activity the girls usually take part in maybe like playing video games. The other girls start worrying about her so Twilight goes to try to find out what happened and Rainbow tags along because she did so well when Pinkie went off the deep end. Rainbow, actually being loyal, convinces Twilight to cast that cloud walking spell on Rarity because she’s worried about her trying something drastic in her current state. As such Rainbow convinces Rarity to become her roommate for a little while and their personality differences clash immediately. Rarity’s obsessive neatness and dramatic hypochondria irritate Rainbow who prefers dishevelment, while Rainbow’s messiness drives Rarity up a tree. The topper to this could come about when Rainbow sets them up on a double date with two stallions living nearby which is immediately ruined when Rarity talks about her breakup with Spike, leading to Rainbow throwing her out the next day.

Will the card games be played on motorcycles?
