Friendship isn’t, but in order to have some good time, money is usually needed, especially as you get older.
If you go somewhere, you usually have to pay.
If you go somewhere that is free, you’ll eventually get hungry and have to pay for food, and it’s usually something pre-cooked or some snack, so it’s more expensive.
If you’re hanging out at someone’s place, you either order a takeout (same as previous point) or eat/provide something home-cooked, which is additional expenses.
I see, but I still think it depends on how you use it, and how you treat your friends that matters.
