After I took one last photo of the scene of the crime, I was about to fly away when Wonder stopped me, asking if she could come with me. I asked her why, and she said it would make her feel safe. The exchange continued as follows:

Ventie: “No, you can not come. This could be dangerous.”
Wonder: “But it’ll be even more dangerous when I’m alone!”
V: “How?”
W: “You won’t be there to protect me???”
V: “Ma’am, you’re barking up the wrong tree. No pun intended.”
W: “Well, what if you saw me drowning? Would you save me or watch me drown?”
V: “Probably save you. But either way, you’re not coming with me. End of story.”
W: “Fine. I didn’t want to have to do this, but you leave me no choice…” (She does that)
(We continue staring at each other for ten seconds before I say something.)
V: “NO.”

Needless to say, she’s now my… assistant.
