I actually really like Applejack’s part. The way she adopts this talent in a way that makes sense, both logically and for her character. And there’s a really profound sense of melancholy at the end, like Applejack knows that despite how well this talent works for her, it’s not actually right.  
Rainbow’s has the same kind of melancholy, but the artist didn’t quite manage to make the job believable with Rainbow.

Well, the episode only showed the immediate aftereffects of the spell. If Twilight hadn’t solved the riddle and simply let the swapped cutie marks remained swapped, I think this would have occurred eventually.
