One of the pairs died while their offspring (either Stellar or Firelight) was still a young foal, who was given in adoption.

Reminds me of a fanfic I read somewhere in which Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst turned out to be half siblings, but I can’t seem to find it. I think Brony4Life wrote it, but I don’t recall.

Without the context that Sunburst thinks his “mom” is the changedling Thorax (it is actually another changedling, but he does not know) & that he also believes that “Starlight´s dad” next to him is Thorax´s brother Pharynx… one may get the wrong idea that the actual real ones [Stellar Flare & Firelight] shared the same parents.

Considering the place where Sunburst and Starlight grew up, it would be interesting if there was some kind of reason why it earned its name of Sire’s Hollow.
