Well, I have to admit… I would (assuming I had the same knowledge of the Sunshine family) react the same way at that moment. That’s why it’s good to have friends like Hitch to ground you a little in such moments.
But most of all: the throne room. Ah… Damn! Now I’m feeling nostalgic and have a tear in my eye. So much time has passed since then. Not in our world, but in theirs. It makes me feel somehow. Sorry. ;-)

Perhaps. Even so, I would argue it was to the story’s benefit to make use of the character’s limited knowledge of the past for story potential instead of making Sunny the exposition fairy.

Argyle had to research and rediscover that information. Sunny feels like she knows too much as though her knowledge is encyclopedic when it should be very fragmented, probably even less than Argyle himself since he likely didn’t share all that he knew.

I feel like they’re having Sunny know too much. The movie seemed to imply this era is largely lost history.
