@Gmaplay
This is why G5 having anything to do with G4 makes the entire G4 cast look like complete and total buffoons, all so the G5 gang can “do it right this time.”
@Daneasaur
literally that ended up making the g5 clear, so why did they stop cozy and starlight if twilight would do it on a planetary scale almost a week after the epilogue?
They defeated all kinds of villains before. Yet they could not face one pony spreading racist BS? A slow burn could have made more sense.
There was an all-too perfect catalyst to ferment distrust with because of her unique condition. Someone whose very existence would have served to divide ponies in ways long after her imprisonment.
Can you imagine how many times a war broke out because a child was killed or just hurt in Media? Especially in such a highly ambiguous situation like was presented in Season 9. Sure, they were trying to destroy Equestria at the time, but let them slowly think things out later on, start to ask uneasy questions such as “Where’d Cozy Come From?”, “Who are her Parents?”, “Is it right for Adults to be Forgiven but not Children?”, “Is there a fine line?”
Having Cozy Glow remain stoned indefinity while Unicorn Criminals that had done far more lasting harm such as starting cults, waging wars, or enslaving other creatures are allowed to walk freely will really give plenty of ammunition for the Pegasi to break away from Equestria…
@TOMNICE
it’s hasbro, if with transformers they made this mistake not once but too many times (transformers beast machines, energon, age of extinction and the last knight, RID 2015, ETC) I’m not surprised they did it with FIM, basically fuck everything what our heroes did, everything goes back to how the other series started and we have to do it all over again but shitting on the legacy of the series that gave us the most popularity or that went well and if we can get “in the mood with the boys” with current trends better
“Let’s do a SVTFOE! Bcuz people really loved that, right?”
Is it really hard to just make the devision happen hundreds of years after the mane six or make a better reason for this? Also, trying to justify this with “no one is perfect” is dumb. The mane six has their own strenghts and weaknesses but those still do not hold up anything about why they would do something like this. They defeated all kinds of villains before. Yet they could not face one pony spreading racist BS? A slow burn could have made more sense.
It’s definitely quite a braver thing for us profile name users to share our opinions as we hide behind a fake name and a fake face on the internet, unlike those anonymous users who also use a fake name and a fake profile on the internet as that’s the general idea of anonymity. We’re just so different and we’re never wrong. Wow! :D
Reminder to not reply or consider any replies from Background ponies. They know they are wrong and refuse to take a risk at backlash to their real profile name.
@Phoenixflambe
I find it funny that people like assuming that Fallout Equestria is the “real” G5.
But…I can’t help but feel that Ohvist might have a point? After all, Hasbro hires professional writers to do their story stuff for MLP that aren’t allowed to look at any outside sources for help compared to us, fans who know the ins and outs of these characters, most of us don’t even have any professional writing jobs outside of writing for fun.
So its clearly the paid writers who know what’s best right?……………..
@GoodVibesGorgeous
I share the same sentiments about G5 and Fallout Equestria.
@Wayneponeth
You could make more money without alienate old fan
@Daneasaur
Pretty much, heck they could have had the same story without connecting it to Gen 4. Make it it own world with it own history completely separate from the previous. (kinda like Final Fantasy)
@Phoenixflambe
I didn’t even start reading it, heh. Anyway, I think I’ll stick out with G5, as I’m not a big fan of stories like Fallout Equestria (no offense to those who like it).
@Red-Supernova
If Hasbro wanted to try and make the G5 characters iconic; they should have tried to give the characters their own strengths and weaknesses, their Virtues and their Vices. So far, Sunny Starscout hasn’t done much to warrant herself in a leadership role for their group as the main lead.
The showrunners assume that being turned into an Alicorn is justification enough to be a leader since it happened to Twilight. They seem to forget the simple fact that Twilight already had spent two other Seasons before that as a Unicorn which showcased her burgeoning leadership qualities that made her (mostly) EARN that transformation into an Alicorn. What exactly did Sunny Starscout do on her own during the movie that would have served to have audiences root for her? She sent the message that Izzy got? that is lazy justification. She united the crystals? That was poor writing and narrative focus on something that didn’t need to be there. She tried preaching and soapboxing? Do I even need to say how flimsy and shallow that justification is?
Everyone else from her group seemed to have at least one distinguishable quality to them that would have made them a leader for the group; and she feels more like the Tag-Along Kid archetype from what we saw. There are good examples of Tag-Alongs becoming main characters in their own stories; however in those particular cases the setting was established to be in such a way that would have the Kid start to undergo character development. This show doesn’t seem to even have a grasp on how to try and accomplish that simply due to Sunny having very little chemistry with the others: mainly on-account that she’s continuously playing the Tokenism Card all the time: seeing them only for their Horns and Wings rather than them as individuals, even in the midst of conversations.
