I don’t get how someone could be compensated in life for an event that would happen in death. You’re essentially attaching a monetary amount to someone’s soul and selling it to the man below when the policy comes into effect.
My question is how one would be able to trust the program not to hand their souls over to Satan himself, though I could imagine this program being organized by religious ministers for other religions if the nation is being run by someone claiming to be a goddess.
Soul insurance comes with any job with the Lunar government as the risks associated with directly dealing with a cackling magical supervillian goddess are evidently risky to the soul. Additionally, many members of the ruling party are seeking to pass legislation to create a Soulcial Security programme to expand this protection to all ponies.

That ship has probably already been sailing since she joined Nightmare Moon’s ranks. Lilith would have little point in attempting to acquire her soul because it is already gone.
Even though the general’s soul is on the line? Though if Lilith has been shown to exert dominance over Satan himself, then I wouldn’t put it past her to make sure it doesn’t suffer eternal condemnation.
