> No, it doesn’t. Not in itself. It’s certain ideas that are in the Bible that bring you happiness.
This is akin to saying that good food doesn't make you happy, just the characteristics that make up the food make you happy. This is a pointless statement, and shamelessly self-masturbatory pseudo-intellectual nonsense.
> The thing is, you could have gotten the same ideas, therefore the same happiness, from something else.
This statement is so presumptuous as to be without any sort of value.
> Getting them from the Bible is fraught with unfortunate problems due to all the ugly ideas and historical / cultural baggage that comes with the Bible.
While it is true that the bible has historically been used as the justification for terrible things, you can say that about literally *any* idea. I'm not about to engage in whataboutism, but I'm sure you can think of a few secular institutions that have done terrible things which have had negative consequences on the individuals involved and the world at large.

Pretty much the rest of your post is just a rehash of these three points, so for the sake of brevity, I'll conclude my post with this statement: The person you're arguing with is not advocating any of the more questionable parts of the bible. No more so than you are espousing anything negative associated with your own personal beliefs. Therefore, your efforts are being directed to the wrong person and are coming off as nothing more than r/atheism-tier kicking and screaming about nothing.
