Well, in the personality part, some concept art suggest Twilight Sparkle presumably would behave like Sunny Starscout does in the final product. And Applejack was supposed to be her foalhood friend, so maybe she would be the Hitch to Twilight’s Sunny?

Even though I’m glad they went with a new cast, when I look at this image, I still can’t help but wonder “What if we had the Mane Six again?” How would the fandom react even after they debut in A New Generation instead of the Mane Five? Would their personalities be drastically different compared to G4? We’ll never know.
