I am going to type something that looks horrible due to current world issues. For a second there, I thought this was real and I got a little happy because I thought that this would put a stop to all the Russian cheating that goes on in the gameloft game. Let me explain. Whenever there is a community event, always in the top ten in my server the top two and four other places in the top ten are occupied by the same Russian player. It is a different player name each event, but the same thing keeps happening. For the examples I will replace the Russian names with English name examples since I cannot read Russian. In one event it would be Shining Armor Sugar Cookie in first, second, fourth, fifth, seventh and eighth places. In another event, the same thing would happen, but this time the one occupying those places would be Pinkie Pie Purple Lilac. And every event this would repeat, but it would be a different Russian name every time. When I thought this was real, I had hoped that this would put a stop to that.

And I agree that this is a problem that they’ll need to deal with once the war is over, but it is still not a just cause for invasion. If anything, this risks making them more popular by increasing anti-Russian sentiment.

Even if they are a minority, give this minority weapons, armored vehicles, etc. A very bad idea. With that, they’ll do so much bullshit (which they did). But also the policy of the state, under which neo-Nazis can flourish. Extremely annoying. And with this, the authorities were not going to do anything

And that’s how you make it effective.

The government, any government, draws its power from the consent of the governed. Even dictatorships only exist because each individual player in the chain of command tacitly agrees to continue supporting those above them. Putting pressure on the top doesn’t really work on its own. What is a couple billion in seized assets to a ruling oligarch? As long as their power structure at home remains in place they will easily earn it back by years end. But, seizing those assets in addition to wide sweeping sanctions that also directly affect the stability of the government beneath them? That can force a change in behavior.

The general population holds the true power, but is generally too disorganized to wield it effectively. Sanctions puts pressure on them to act, and the nearest and easiest target to lash out at is their own government.

I mean I don’t doubt there is some of that going on, and I think that is wrong as well. I just haven’t much of it personally.

As for news, while I do look on reddit mainly to see what other people are saying, for factual information I go to The Guardian, which is independently funded.

You put it a little wrong, bro. Racism is persecution on a national or ethnic/racial basis. And the invasion of one country into another is just a war. And please do not believe either Russian or Ukrainian media (especially Ukrainian, they have more fakes than on 4chane)

Nobody is saying that that is okay, but they’re a relatively small group with no say in the government itself. Yes, Ukraine has problems, but nothing that justifies invasion.
