No, it wasn’t. Background characters are placed by storyboard or layout artists, rather late in production. Characters relevant to the plot are placed by writers, over a year before the the former group start working on it.
You don’t like the character, we get it. But her reappearance had nothing to do with pandering of any kind.

There were no Trixie fans when the episode was written. As for Discord’s return, I’m mildly sure it was written before Return of Harmony aired. As for antagonists not returning, I’m pretty sure we’ve seen the Cloudsdale Jocks in more than one episode, but I guess they don’t count because they’re not that well liked.
And I guess Spitfire in Hurricane Fluttershy or Wonderbolt Academy was fan pandering? Or Donut Joe in Friendship Express or Just for Sidekicks?
That’s what I said. They were making Season 2, while Season 1 had started airing.
January 2011 was before the whole “brony” thing took off, so I don’t think they had Trixie fans in mind when making that episode.
And honestly who cares if it was? It was a good episode regardless.
Yeah, I think that would’ve been a little more than a month after Boast Busters aired. And iirc well before EqD was much of a thing, or Trixie was even remembered after her episode; afaik she only got noticed around April or so after some fanfics used her as a prominent character.
But hey, character you don’t like? Means she’s forced, all Seth’s fault, overrated, I don’t get why people like her, etc.

Y’know, I love how people complain that the “Magic Duel” episode was just “made to pander to Trixie fans,” yet according to the writer of that episode, it was submitted back in January 2011, (during the show’s first season) before the “brony” thing became well-known, and was originally ment to be a Season 2 episode.
