Out of the 3 Mean Somnambula concepts you made, I like the colorblind one the best.

I bet Sphonxy would actually see her in full color since that Mean Somnambula’s already got the yellow & blue look the big cat would usually see.

How so? If this were a clone of her instead of some random pony the Sphinx found on the wall, were the Mean 6 the Mane 6’s problem? Though it would have been a good idea to see them have to battle “Darth” versions of themselves with the evil sides of their personalities rather than clones created from trees, hair, and pictures.

So why create the clone of some random pony when she could instead clone one of their most brutal emperors? Could this be how Sombra came back in S9?

Though, I actually did add differences to the clone. She’s wearing Sphinxy’s jewelry and has Sphinxy’s two-tone wings as well, since she was made from one of Sphinxy’s hairs instead of one of Nammy’s: there’s a little bit of sphinx in there too :D

It’s the same spell that Chrysalis used to create the Mean Six, except the sphinx used what she had readily available to make the clone instead. A bag of sand instead of the hunk of wood as a base, a hieroglyph of Nammy instead of a photo for the appearance, and one of her own hairs instead of one of Nammy’s for the “soul” since it’s all she had. It’s why the clone looks way more “off” than one of the Mean Six clones, and why the clone has bits of Sphinxy’s appearance like her jewelry and wings :P

That’s how I read the logic of The Mean Six: wood for the body, photograph for the appearance, hair for the soul. It makes more sense than half the things I’ve had the sphinx do so I basically just said “cowabunga it is” :D

She has the same weaknesses as the Mean Six: she’s basically a normal pony, but she’s highly vulnerable to death by Harmony Tree. Thankfully that thing doesn’t exist yet XD

So perhaps she doesn’t need a name because she is already the Wicked Witch of the West. My next question is who would portray the other “Wizard of Oz” characters, though I’ve a feeling that Twilight could be a good Dorothy, Pinkie could be a good Glinda, the CMC’s could be three of the Munchkins, Big Mac could be a good scarecrow, and Fluttershy would be a good Cowardly Lion. But perhaps Badumsquish could ponify this franchise another time.

With t gh ise ingredients I’d imagine water would make her dissolve.

I’d imagine the sand would give the clone’s body a form, with the feather giving her wings, though they might not have had prior magical properties. Badum’s Sphinx has quite potent magic in her own right, that creating life from so little wouldn’t even be that odd.

Also, yeah, Living Hieroglyphs are absolutely a thing in Badum’s world.

So will this character ever get a name? Or is that up to the Sphinx to decide?

What exactly would the bag of sand and feather do? Is it mystical sand and a mystical feather that cast a spell on the hieroglyph character or something?

And why would the Sphinx need the clone at all? Though if MLP is set in the same universe as Diamond Dogs and green pods holding hostages, I may imagine Living Hieroglyphs being a thing, especially in your head canon if you have previously drawn a mashroomized Twilight. Which only begs the question of why we have never seen many fanfics of Ness and co. going to Equestria.
