I think Izzy knew that she missed:

And perhaps it explains why everypony misses: that’s how a unicorn hoops after all.

It looks like the physics simulation shows the basketball going through because the back moves first, but the basketball is just layered incorrectly. But Izzy missing with confidence just makes me like her more.
