The book contains contradictions with show canon, so sorry to say he was merely in the loop, not part of the story planning.
But, I’m going to believe they’re biologically immortal until it’s implied otherwise. The “Cadence aged” argument is mostly invalid, since more often than not in fiction immortals age normally up to a certain point and then cease aging in the traditional sense.

Yes, it is. In fact, it’s a chapter book. Also, the author worked hard with Hasbro who gave him/her guidelines on how to approach the story.
Is that book canon with the show?
Crystal Heart Spell, which just so happens to be a book set RIGHT after Magical Mystery Cure states that Cadence used to be an orphaned pegasus foal who was raised by earth ponies. Then Celestia took her under her wing and adopted her as her niece.
That’s what I would like to know, when they showed her younger she had her wing.

I am so goddamn tired of this “immortality blues” shit. Twilight won’t want to die until she’s learned everything there is to learn, which is never. And her friends will never die because they will live in her memory.
Assuming that any of them will die. It’s canon that Twi can cast any spell she sees somepony else use. She saw Trixie cast a de-aging spell, and now she has (or will grow into) the power to use it herself.

Guess what. That was just frustration at Twilight. Also, I’m pretty sure Celestia has known Twilight very much to get a good idea of her behavior and she thought she was just pushing it too far.
Celestia has done wrong things before, like in A Canterlot Wedding when she refused to listen to Twilight’s suspicion. If I were Celestia, I would make them immortal.
WHY WOULD CELESTIA DO SOMETHING AS CRUEL AS GIVE IMMORTALITY TO THOSE WHO HAVE FRIENDS AND A HUSBAND!? THINK ABOUT IT FOR ONE SECOND!
I know that. But I will believe that Cadance and Twily are immortal until I see Word of Hasbro say otherwise. That is why I asked for a link.
