Spellbreaker is only good until you reach elder/ancient/legendary dragons, they break the ward instantly (which has the side effect of breaking your block all together… which kills you). Better get a normal/magic-resistant shield and invest in the magic protection block skill at that point.
 
I loved the Spellbreaker during 80% of my gameplay though, I was sad when I had to let it go. /nerd

Heh. Skyrim is probably one of the few games where playing a purestrain mage doesn’t allow you to blow everything up. Heck, if you try to be a mage, this part is horrible.
