It would seem Twilight has become selfish.

Tch, alicorn drama has evolved into a new form.

Didn’t an old Equestrian saying goes that :
“Acknowledge the past sin of mare to build the future virtue of marekind”

Twilight should remember it.

Magic has never done anything good for us.

It gives. It gives to some but not others. It creates divides. It creates hatred. It ruins everything. It always does.

Magic made me live for far, far too long. I saw nations rise and fall. My friends and family passed away before my eyes. My bloodline died out. And I can’t join them. I can’t take my place next to them in the Beyond. I’ve tried. I’ve tried everything.

There’s a reason I took magic away. It does not create. It only destroys. It promises wealth, harmony, friendship, then it stabs you in the back. All it takes is a little magic… and a little jealousy.

I understand why you don’t believe me. You haven’t seen the things I’ve seen.

I hate my mentor for thrusting this upon me. I was once just a unicorn, then Celestia felt that she needed to… “upgrade” me. Step down, thrust the responsibility of ruling on me. All she did was make me unhappy. Her decision took everything from me, piece by piece, pony by pony… limb by limb. I’m barely a pony anymore.

I used to look up to her, you know. Now I just want to kill her. I would, if she wasn’t already dead. I’m jealous of her. How did she even manage that?

Most ponies just don’t live long enough to see what Magic takes from us. But I did. And I wish I didn’t.

Just look at what it did to me. Look what it did to my body. Not only am I a monster, I’m a bitter, sad, lonely old mare that can’t die. I want to die, Sunny. My friends and family are all waiting for me. They’ve been waiting for… ugh. I can’t even remember how long it’s been. Celestia lived for two thousand years. Then she found some way to die. I never figured out how she did it.

My age is somewhere in the five-figure range. Maybe six. I don’t know. I stopped counting a long time ago.

I’m so tired, Sunny. I was only happy for the first eighty or so years of my life. No, no, more like forty. Seeing my friends age sucked the joy out of everything shockingly fast. And then I lost them. And everyone else followed. Family, acquaintances, descendants of them all… they all died, and I forgot them, and they forgot me.

I think I’m the butt of some cruel cosmic joke. Ponies used to see alicorns as gods. But there’s something above us. Something that decides all of our fates. Something that saw fit to torture me for three thousand lifetimes.

This is all because of Magic. It’s not worth it. It took everything from me. It’ll take everything from you.”

I doubt anything like this will happen in the series.
But my morbid curiosity wants to know where this would go.

You don’t have to be evil to be a villain.

You just have to think you’re right.

It doesn’t really come across as spooky, and just looks more like someone looking for a reason to throw shade on G5.

Out of character for Twilight and just edgy for the sake of edgy.

Oh my Faust Twilight would never say this she is not Luke Skywalker I’m literally shaking and crying right now.
 
Seriously though I believe that Twilight and the rest of the Mane Six gave her the magic through their spirits in the crystals but this could work as Sunny’s inner demon. Little Sunny Starscout has a lot of doubts in her mind and this Twilight is the personification of those doubts. Imagine if she does something wrong and she imagines a mad Twilight telling her how much she has failed her friends and Equestria, believing Twilight is mad at her, but in reality she is only mad at herself.

These suspending disbelief; then there’s giving it an anti-gravity device and chucking it into the sun.
 
How is it scary when someone does something obviously stupid and dies because of it? That’s not horror; that’s comeuppance.
 
When a character does something suicidally foolish and gets killed, pretty much everyone thinks that person deserved it; how is that scary in any way? That would be frowned upon in literally any other genre, but horror gets a pass because writers just love rehashing the same thing verbatim.
 
Making a character act like they eat lead paint chips to progress the plot is lazy and bad writing, no matter the genre. It’s such a sad state that horror has such a low bar.

This reminds me just how much I’ve always wanted to know what Twilight was like after a few thousand years on the job.
