It was never a legitimate news site to begin with, nor was it intended to be. It started as Sethisto’s personal blog where he wanted to post interesting MLP:FiM-relevant stuff, and despite its growth it hasn’t really moved far from those roots.
I think a lot of people who weren’t following it since the start have come in expecting it to be something it’s not.
YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE NOT HAVING A PROBLEM WITH SPIKE THE D-I don’t have a problem either.

Yeah, Equestria daily needs to step award from the editorial work and rumor mill and instead focus on actual confirmed news and not give out biased editorials and instead let people form their own opinions on matters.
Like with this they should have waited until it was either confirmed or all but confirmed.
EQD is becoming less like a news site and more like a tabloid.
News must be slow this time around on EQD.
Hopefully it will pick up again and they will start posting real news again.
