Yeah, but in some ways, the West also seems largely based in Rome instead of Israel. Much of England and Europe was occupied by the Romans, after all.

It is kind of ironic. For the West at least, the basic themes of love and forgiveness have their historical roots in Christianity.

I appreciate it! When those passages are placed side by side, it appears that leaders are supposed to be accountable to those they’re responsible for. Leadership does not have to compromise friendship. I feel that most Christians fail to perceive this connection, despite their own Bibles.
