I definitely did spend a good portion of the show’s lifetime writing fanfics, and I enjoyed it for a while. I’ve pretty much fallen out of it over the years, but I can say without a doubt that I’m proud of what I made in my time.

Wow, that’s a pretty deep response. You must be a phenomenal fanfic writer on Fimfiction, too. My best guess is that’s all about watching these characters react to the erotic situation in front of them. I wouldn’t say it’s my “favorite” kink by any means. But it is up there.  
I’m not really sure how popular it is. It seemed like I couldn’t get away from it when I didn’t like it, and now that I do like it it’s hard to find other groups with the same interest.  
There’s a lot of different reasons why people like it – a good chunk of them are particular dark, which I don’t care for. Myself, I enjoy the more wacky light-hearted sense of it, like something you’d see on Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon, where something crazy would happen and a character would end up naked, for teh lulz.  
Something else I’ve theorized is that public nudity scenarios can be related to life itself in a way. One moment we’ve got everything figured out and planned for, we feel safe and secure. Then out of nowhere something comes along and strips away everything that kept us feeling safe, so we feel exposed and lost without any plan of how to get covered. It’s scary and sometimes feels hopeless– but we pull ourselves together and push through the fear of exposure until we can find some way to regain our composure and our cover. And after it’s all said and done, we realize that it’s not going to hurt us forever, we’ll just keep moving forward with that unfortunate experience behind us.  
Or maybe I’m just overthinking a silly fetish that involves people getting naked in public, idk

I hear ENF is a very popular kink. I don’t know why that is, but I guess because erotic public humiliation is hot I guess. I think that should be your new main target when it comes to the NSFW content, I mean if that’s like your favorite kind of kink I guess.

Thank you very much. ENF is something I’ve only been into for a year and a half, but one thing I’ve really enjoyed is coming up with different scenarios of how to get to that point. Sure, it’s fun to look at pics where it’s already taking place, but I have major OCD and love to overthink things. So I’m constantly thinking “ok, but how did that happen? And what happens afterward, how do they deal with it?”. So this is one of my first brainchild stories for this particular kink, focusing on my absolute favorite character in the series (and Luna too).

“And what does it do with the deconstructed molecules?”  
“We’re, uh, still working that out. But a little metallic sodium never hurt anyone!”  
“Is that why there are scorch marks on that apple?”  
“No comment.”

I got to say, this is actually a pretty creative way to lead to an exhibitionism situation. And creativity is always a plus in my book.
