Thank you very much for considering reading my description. C:
Some statistics
pixel hobby cost: 18,80€ + 5€ shipping
number of colors: 26
most used pixel color: color 216 (2168 times)
total pixel used: 4000 (50x80)
time spent on the template: 3h
time spent on the pixeling: 9h
time spent on upload: 3h
The original drawing
The talented artist wandrevieira1994 was the creator of this masterpiece. Sadly he deleted his Deviantart account and disappeared roughly one year ago. He was one of my most favorite mlp digital artists. Furthermore is the crash landing twilight in my opinion one of his best works. Sadly was not able to get his permission, but since Wandre gave me one for my FOREVER: Chalk Drawing I think he would not totally be against the use.
The project
First I imported the wand’s picture in Photoshop Elements. There I converted it to a 50 x 80-pixel picture and did a lot of redesigning. After I had finally pixelated a version that looked decent I imported twilight in the software from Pixel hobby (The company sells pixel mosaic sets and the material to create your own designs). There I chose hopefully the most fitting colors and generated the list of pixels I need to buy. The final pixeling was pretty easy and relaxing after you got used to it. Finally, the frame was laser cut and glued together with superglue.

Feel free to use my design. But you have to credit both Wandrevieira1994 and me (Themisto97)

Thank you very much for the detailed comment and nice words. :D
I was not the orbital designer of the picture. The talented artist wandrevieira1994 was the creator of the masterpiece, which I pixelated and later used in my craft. So much of the credit of the storytelling goes to him (Sadly he deleted his Deviantart account a bit more than a year ago).
I was so picky in the choice of the drawing, that I found no pixel picture (around 50x80) after some hours on all Derpibooru had the needed requirements (no transparent background, some think complex/interesting looking). That is why I made my own Template. Sure it took some hours to convert the awesome drawing, but I think it was worth it.
Placing 4000 tiny pixels was easy after you got the hang of it. The 0,1inch² pixels are put on Plug-in tips so you need only follow your template carefully. It only takes a lot of time. I think I needed 9 hours for all 4000 pixels. It is pretty relaxing in my opinion.
I am flattered that you are tempted to ask for commissions. But I think something like this is not very suited for commissions. It probably would be way too expensive since it takes so long to make. But I could give you the list of colors you need to buy for your own twilight. The material cost was around $ 20 (excluding shipping). I would also try to answer questions and give templates where every color goes.
Lastly, I would encourage you to look at my other projects on Deviantart or Derpibooru. There you can see different types of laser cutter works, chalk drawings and other stuff. ^^
Placing 4000 tiny pixels by hand and lining them up so precisely is truly amazing!
I’m tempted to ask if you take commissions! ^^
