Description
“The Crystalling,” released on March 26, 2016. I still remember the syaystorm that arose in the fandom when this character was revealed. Are there still people who hate Flurry Heart? Probably.
Happy 5th Birthday, Flurry! (Even though you didn’t really age in the show)

I’m kidding. I didn’t like her a lot in the cartoon, but she’s so much fun in fanfiction.
no!
that’s because she was a baby of which her magic was like going haywire, and the baby unicorn of the cake twins was having the same issue as flurry heart once was, and the later episodes were showing that she was using magic in a more controlled manner, yet overdoing it when looking for her favorite toy, and I couldn’t blame her for doing anything she can to find it, due to her age, so nevertheless this doesn’t mean it makes her a mary sue, she just didn’t learn to not use magic for everything all the time, not yet at least
I want to fave your comment.
Remember how Pumpkin phased through a laundry basket and Pound moved Pinkie around more easily than Rainbow Dash could? Multiply that by a factor of alicorn. (And imagine what Cadence went through during the pregnancy!)
But I can understand your issues. You’re just operating off of a different definition of “Mary Sue” than the one you cited. (As for “more power than Celestia and Luna,” the question is whether she had more power or less control. And, again, Cake twins. Pony foals can be downright terrifying!)
I say that though because if you look at it, unlike the cake twins, they seem still rather inexperienced, Flurry Heart however, seems to have even more power than Tia and Luna when she was born, could teleport with ease, and cause blasts that even the council of alicorns couldn’t cause with a sneeze. She caused trouble, but she just seemed way too powerful.
She causes catastrophe and ruin almost every time she shows up in the show. Moreover, she is an infant. She never had a chance to demonstrate much personality, positive or negative. Calling Flurry Heart a Mary Sue is like calling the Cake twins Mary Sues. There’s not enough data there.
How is it assuming though? She fit the classic Mary Sue character. to Quote:
“Mary Sue is a term used to describe a fictional character, usually female, who is seen as too perfect and almost boring for lack of flaws, originally written as an idealized version of an author in fanfiction.”
Don’t assume too much!
I remember how pissed off I was after S5 finale (I later got mostly over it). I was annoyed at Glimmer’s presence in S6 (I got over it too). But this cute little bundle of joy… I never ever have hated her. S7’s A Flurry of Emotions is one of my favorite episodes.
Five years already. I’m… feeling old and sad again.
