NMM was an immortal alicorn in control of the moon, possessed by some sort of malevolent spirit. Discord is chaos personified, capable of flipping reality turnways.
 
Trixie was a jealous little unicorn who found a mind-addling magic amulet.
 
If Luna can be immediately accepted back, and Discord can be redeemed within an episode, not forgiving Trixie for being irresponsible would be nothing short of unfair.
 
.. That said, the show for the Saddle Arabians did seem a little odd? Maybe TK is something that they don’t have, or it’s very difficult to manage that many objects at one time in synchrony. There really wasn’t enough context.

I’m going to comment even though I doubt anyone will read it.
 
Looking back at all 13 episodes, Season 3 wasn’t anywhere near as bad as people have been saying it is. It had about the same proportion of good and not-so-good episodes as S1 and S2, but because of its half-length, I guess the lesser episodes stand out more to some folks. In fact, my least-liked episodes are still in S2, my favourite season thus far.
 
Least favourite eps this season would be “Spike at Your Service” & “Just For Sidekicks”. “Spike” because the premise was dumb and the episode didn’t really go anywhere (timberwolves were cool though), and “Sidekicks” simply because it went by too fast and I didn’t see the point of including the CMC for the second half. But I do like how it was the flip-side for “Games Ponies Play”. That was a nice touch.
 
All the other episodes at least contributed something to the show’s universe.
 
My favourite episodes of S3 would be “Magic Duel” and “Too Many Pinkie Pies”. I also liked “Apple Family Reunion” (because Granny Smith is awesome).
 
Here’s my thought on “Magical Mystery Cure”. I thought it was a great series finale. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the series finale. This episode’s reception is entirely dependent on what the S4 opener is like. It’ll either be seen as a fine show, or the beginning of the end.

Am I the only one that thinks it’s unfair to compare season 3 to its predecessors due to the fact that it has only half the amount of episodes, and thus, the results of judging its overall quality based on the quality of its episodes are more likely to be skewed one way or the other due to significantly smaller sampling?

It went better than expected even if season 2’s finale was better executed. Plenty of memorable moments characters seemed balanced enough, Twilight’s new ability I’ll wait till next time to see how it turns out.
 
Any problems i blame hasbro or the hub for the forcing of the change in direction and lack of episodes commisioned. Studio b must have been under so much pressure to make it work and I’m glad they succeeded. To moan about it further would just be petty so I’ll leave it at that. How the next few months will hold up will be something to behold. If only some people would just give it a rest for a while.

Yeah but Luna spent thousands of years trapped in the moon for what she tried too do before breaking out & even then when Nightmare night rolled around ponies were still afraid of her & Discord spent all of S2 trapped in stone & even though he’s supposedly redeemed everypony is remaining cautious over the guy. Trixie’s ultimate punishment was a slap on the wrist for the shit she pulled. Another thing that was quite lame in Magic Duel was the ultimate big show for the ponies of Saddle Arbia. Really? Spinning animals in a infinite loop? Thats your big show your going to give to the royals? I could go to Sugarcube Corner & watch Pumpkin do that with furniture c’mon…

Twilight half destroyed the town with parasprites, then brainwashed everyone, Rainbow Dash went full villain-mode and tackled the local hero, Fluttershy became a complete dick to everybody and Spike rampaged and crushed several buildings. They all got off without any sort of punishment, and they were all “themselves” (arguable with Spike, but still). I can’t see how forgiving Trixie for being a jerk while explicitly under the influence of a cursed amulet would be out of place.

Spike messages don’t just teleport, they turn into fire which travels to Celestia. The dome could stop it. And making a hole not only takes time, but considering Trixie was nearby it was also risky.
 
Now you’re just hating the episode because it had Trixie in it. Apparently it doesn’t matter that the episode was planned without the fanbase in mind. and in Ponyville people are more forgiving, that you aren’t it’s your problem alone.

So most of the characters acting like complete morons (Save for Twilight Zecora & Fluttershy), & An ending that solely pandering to Trixie’s fanbase is consider a good episode? Yeah no it isn’t I hated Magic Duel & my hatred for Trixie increased to the intensity of the sun because of it. It’s the first & hopefully last episode I’ll ever consider the worst episode of FiM.
