Late Riser caused quite a stir upon his birth. His poor stressed out parents were scared stiff when their precious newborn foal was utterly silent as he hung from the doctor’s hoof. Doctor Stable got a good look at the colt and he seemed to be breathing but otherwise wasn’t making a sound until the baby suddenly opened his little mouth wide and loosed a squeaky yawn. It was then he realized the problem, the foal was asleep and likely had been throughout the entire birth!
 
I wish I could say I was able to quickly make this right after finishing my picture for FiM’s 10th anniversarry, but I’ve been working on this off and on since I finished the comic showing Fluttershy and Big mac’s frantic reaction to the birth of their first child and then a second comparing it to their calm reaction to their eighth.  

 
Sorry about the, um, more gruesome birth. I hadn’t planned that at first, but the thought crept into my head while I was making this and it just kept coming back, and I am just a little sick of the number of sterilized births depicted on this site. I don’t think real live ponies have particularly bloody births compared to humans, but I also know they don’t have those giant heads the MLP foals have either.
 
I have another picture in mind for the birth of Fluttershy and Big Mac’s final child to go with this picture, but that will have to wait for now, I need to get working on something for Halloween this year. See you all then.
