Discord had been studying the spell for weeks now. After claiming the book from the royal library, it was just a matter of time before he would be able to carry out his plan. It was finally the night of the full moon and Discord would be able to channel extra magic into casting his spell. Checking over the words once again, he was sure he had memorized it by now. Looking up from the book, Discord peered into the kitchen where Fluttershy had been preparing dinner. Her soft humming soothed Discord, but his nerves were still standing on edge. He was afraid of what would happen if things went wrong, but he was certain it would turn out alright.
 
“Discord! Time for dinner,” Fluttershy called the draconequss from the kitchen.
 
“Coming, darling,” he chimed in response, stepping into the kitchen and sitting down to eat with Fluttershy.
 
Everything felt normal. Their casual conversations, the tasteful dinner, why should things go wrong? Discord suddenly found his eyes locked on Fluttershy. He slouched as his brain continue to taunt him with negative thoughts. Fluttershy paused and looked at Discord with a slightly cocked head.
 
“Everything okay, Discord?” she asked gently.
 
“Oh! Yes, yes, just thinking is all…” Discord responded. He looked over at the nested egg that had been placed in the living room so the couple could keep an eye on it. Drawing in a deep breath, Discord knew this had to happen. Their child would have draconequss blood and be immortal no doubt… Fluttershy must not be the exception.
 
“ Fluttershy,” Discord started, calling the mares attention, "how about we go for a walk this evening. The full moon is supposed to be out tonight and the woods will be fully lit under its light! Quite romantic dont you think?"   Fluttershy gave a smile and nodded. "Sounds delightful, Discord. Lets finish up dinner and get everything cleaned up and we can go on a stroll".   The two finished their dinner, Discord hurriedly eating his food now as the anticipation began eating away at him. He helped clean the dishes and carefully moved their egg back into the bedroom so it would be safe while they were gone. Leading Fluttershy out of the house, Discord walked alongside Fluttershy into the shadows of the Everfree forest.   Strolling along, the mended path Discord had help create was fully illuminated by the moon. Looking up at the sky, Discord seemed to bare his teeth at the sight of the moon. It made him remember Luna and the memory of his illegitimate child sparked furry in his heart. He blew hot air toward the sky and looked back toward Fluttershy. This night wasnt about Luna or the past, this was about the future. His future with Fluttershy. As the neared the end of the path, Discord realized he needed to act now! His heart was pounding, his limbs seemed to twitch with impatience as he needed to act soon.   "Fluttershy," Discord called out, his throat felt dry and he suddenly felt frozen.   "Yes, Discord?" Fluttershy asked.   Discord looked down, suddenly unable to meet Fluttershys eyes. He could hear the pounding of his heart in his ears, his wings felt cramped as he clamped them to his body. Looking back to Fluttershy, he could see the concern in the mares eyes. She opened her mouth to speak but Discord just shook his head.   "Im sorry, my love... This is all I know to do to protect you," Discord said.   "Discord? What are you saying?" Fluttershy asked. The confusion and fear was clear in her voice.   Discord lowered his head and let out a calming sigh. Raising a clawed hand, he began to recite the spell that he knew by heart now and began to cast it on Fluttershy. A loud gasp erupted from the mare as Discord lifted her from the ground.   "Discord! What are you doing?!" Fluttershy asked frantically.   "This... may hurt for just a moment," Discord admitted.   A bright aura surrounding Fluttershy, encasing her body in powerful magic as Discord proceeded with the spell. Finishing the spoken words, now all he had to do was cast the spell until it was complete. But it was more than even he was used to. He began to struggle with holding the magic and hunched over onto the group. Baring his teeth, Discorded pushed himself in proceeding. He suddenly heard a blood-curdling scream come from Fluttershy, causing his eyes to shoot open. He looked in shock as the mare looked so in pain, her screams didnt seem to cease.   "Discord!" Fluttershy screamed, tears streaming from her eyes as she tried to struggle under the grip of his magic.   Discord felt tears well up in his own eyes at the sight, but he must continue. Pressing on, Discord watched as the changes began. The pitch of Fluttershys screams seemed to shift, her snout extended and her hooves ripped and morphed into paws. Her teeth extended and sharped, her wings grew and tore away into feathered bat wings. She was changing. Being transformed into a draconequss. Discord was holding his breath at this point, the light of his magic seemed to grow brighter and brighter until the light was blinding and suddenly, the spell snapped to a stop. The draconequss gasped loudly and collapsed onto the dirt path. Panting harshly, Discord struggled to open his eyes and could see an unfamiliar figure laying on the ground.
 
“Fluttershy?” Discord called out weakling. Pulling his body up, he crawled tiredly brought himself to the figure and gently rolled it onto its back. His eyes widened and he could see who it was now. It was Fluttershy. The spell had worked. Tears streamed from the males eyes as he pulled Fluttershy into his arms and cradled her.
 
“Fluttershy, my love.. we will be together now… forever,” Discord whispered, brushing the long mane from the mares face. She was sleeping peacefully now, Discord could tell she was exhausted. Discord thought it was impossible but Fluttershy was more beautiful than ever. She was small for a draconequss, but it made sense considering she wasnt born as one. Pegasus blood was still mixed in her, that he could not change. But it didnt matter now. Lifting her from the ground, Discord placed her limp body on his back and headed back to the cottage. Now was going to be another serious of learning lessons, but now for Fluttershy as she learned how to be a draconequss.
