“Now go have a party?
–What? You want an explanation?
–Fuck off and be with your friends.”
I’m sure-as-shit hoping that Celestia explains this destiny thing, instead of just saying: “Congratulations, you fulfilled your destiny: here are your wings and complementary crown”
Episode synopsis:
Twilight Sparkle accidentally casts a spell that switches the Cutie Marks and destinies of all her friends, and the only way she can reverse the spell is by writing her own magic. Little does she know that by achieving this great accomplishment, she will fulfill her destiny and emerge a princess.
Oh.
The people who whined about pandering are probably fine with Hasbro making Twilight an alicorn, because they are getting exactly what they want: choices in the show that are being made without taking the Brony fandom into consideration at all.
…. awww yeah ^^ it would be awesome
Seth got the OK from Hasbro to write about his experience at the Coronation concert event, and he gave a very vague, NDA-friendly blurb about the episode. He liked it, although he got to see it without commercials and he said it’s something that needs to be seen in a single sitting (presumably, he is implying that it needs to be seen without commercial breaks), and that it’s a very densely-packed episode for 22 minutes.
That’s my biggest reservation about Alicorn Twilight. I don’t hate the idea, but from what has been revealed it seemingly has nothing to do with the cutie mark swap story that’s been previewed so far. I’m afraid what should have been two separate stories are going to be mashed together in a way that feels awkward and forced.
Switching cutie marks is an interesting idea, and Alicorn Twilight is an interesting idea. But you don’t automatically get PB&J just by sticking two good things together.
They saw it already. Who’s “they”? Where? When? HOW? TELL ME!! WHAT DID I MISS?!
I hope it’s not permanent either.
But hey, lest we forget– Hasbro killed Optimus Prime in the 80s, and it’s not like that lasted.
This episode is going to be cram-packed enough as it is. Even the people who saw the finale already and liked it have said it’s a very condensed episode, so I doubt there will be room for a villain.
same here. they seem kind of unrelated.
It’s two different groups, and that’s why we are fast approaching broken base territory.
we can only hope.
And I’m still hoping for a surprise villain, like in Canterlot Wedding.
And kinda awful, honestly. All that crap just to get reset immediately?
No. Deal with it.
I don’t think people are worried about how the writers handle the change– they are worried because they don’t want the change at all.
