In my opinion, it kinda makes it seem more realistic. I’m not a hater on this I actually somewhat approve this. However, I think they opted for multicolored skin and not just the tones we see probably to avoid some controversy or some stupid bs like that.

I wish the EQG spin off WOULD give them human skin tones and WOULD make them all shades of white, so we can finally put this race issue to rest.
 
Or if you REALLY want some stupid diversifying so you don’t seem all politically incorrect you can make Rarity black.

I think I like them better with their pony colors as their skin colors. That way people don’t argue over what color/race they should all be.
 
Especially, stereotype crap like… “Twilight is a nerd, so she should be white, or Indian! Dashie is into sports so she should be black!” ect.
