    That’s at least 40 tai (台) or points with Discord’s hand. And that’s not counting any additional conditions that might grant additional points.
     
    This is in a game where winning more than around 5 points with a single hand is generally already considered a lot (if I’m not wrong).
     
    And that’s how Celestia, Luna, and Chrysalis was bankrupted by Discord. 💸👀

To be honest, not everyone in China plays Mahjong with them. For example, my family don’t.

Those are flower tiles, and you don’t discard them. You reveal them as they’re drawn and take an extra tile to replace them. They’re worth a little bonus when you’re scoring your hand.
 
They’re not a regular part of the game. Japanese sets don’t include them at all, and American rules treat them as ordinary honor tiles. But in other Asian countries, that’s how they’re played.

Wait a second here… As we can tell from the tiles on the table before Discord’s hand, he has already discarded no less than five tiles, while the other three players have no tiles in their discarded area, (known as the River,) meaning that all the tiles they have discarded has been taken through Chi, Peng or Gang. So where exactly are the open tiles?

yeah, what he get in hand is ridiculously good. He wins as a dealer(莊家) right after he draw the initial hands, so it is a Heavenly Win(天胡). He also get Great-4-Winds(大四喜). He wins with Triples only, so it is 5-Hidden-Triples(五暗刻). There are still more to come. The point is all of these are extremely rare, some people may not even encounter once in their entire life. How could he get them all in one hand? He MUST be cheating!!
