He didn’t technically ask her out. He wanted to start over as friends.
He tried to ask Sunset out in the movie though, he’s not that passive. I think you’re projecting a lot into Flash’s character, which is easy since he doesn’t have a lot of it, even after this movie gave him some love.

Flash ain’t sleek. :P His hair is spiky, his clothes are tattered, that’s like the opposite of sleek.

Okay, just watched it, and without context, I am so confused. Why exactly does she need to make this robo-dog for Spike instead of taking him out to the dog park or something? Why was she staring at Carlos from Crystal Prep for the first half of the song? I need answers.
Song was cute, though.
