Pretty much. They’re built by an eccentric mad scientist for spying and sending messages, so they only needed the most basic of parts: head and wings. They’re just cute because said mad scientist only makes cute things XD

This is Like Mare but Only Head with Bat wings type.

I did try it, but I couldn’t make it look good no matter what I did. Ultimately I decided the regular mouths looked better :D

I don’t normally like golden lipstick, but in the case of these three, it’d make them look a bit closer to the inspiration behind them.

They’re an enemy from the Mega Man games; they’re robotic bats that hang on the ceilings of caves & buildings and would fly towards you when you got close and did damage when they hit you, then would fly back up to the ceiling and then attack again. They didn’t do much damage, but could be annoying because they could be difficult to hit unless you could lure them down to your level or had an upward-firing weapon available. Also they were immune to damage when hanging from the ceiling with their wings shrouding them. They also appeared in groups so you always had several to deal with.

Probably not. They were sent after Megamare, but they went the wrong way and ended up in the Legend of Zelda-ish part of Equestria so there’s no one around they’re supposed to “get”, so to speak. Even then they’d probably just bonk into you at a low speed and then fly up to the roof :P
