Agree with all of that. It’s not for everyone and the mods definitely add more enjoyment to it.
I think I’ve only finished the main quest about twice. Considering how much time I spend modding and playing it in general, that’s a very small amount.
As much as I like the game, it is very… shallow. Some parts can have great atmospheric storytelling, but the main quest can be very boring, especially with any sort of repetition, and it has a lot of things to do, but those things can be quite repetitive on their own. And without mods to add depth to various mechanics… yeah, it gets boring fast.
You just gave me the best idea for a fanfiction.
…I’m not sure if that’s a good thing. On one hoof, it’s a great idea. On the other, I already have about ten fics I need to finish.
I made it a decent length actually. i just never bothered with the story as i honestly didnt care. I had more fun exploring the world. Also, i still recall repeatedly slaughtering Grelod the Kind for the abuse she out those orphans through.
You ain’t alone. I never beat it either or progressed too much in it. The last thing I remember doing was trying to break into someone’s house in Whiterun and a kid saw me so I slaughtered half of Whiterun to lower eye witnesses, but was caught by the guards still. Thank you bribery. And I also got the Wabbajack. Think that’s how far I got.
Lol funny thing was wehn I first saw this pic I imagined the same thing happening when she shouts. Fus Ro Da will indeed cause those to jiggle viciously.
