My headcanon: They fought so many times that Twilight actually got multiple head injuries. This contributed to her magic ability, at the cost of the fact she will most likely end up suffering a stroke or brain haemorrhage.

Yeah, but you said you were nine years apart. You’d feel bad about fighting with a person nine years younger than you, and you’d be too afraid to provoke a fight if you were nine years younger. Plus you wouldn’t be in contact with eachother as much due to the age difference.
