I…I have put an AMAZING amount of backstory into not only analyzing and creating a believable biological rationale, given the nature of the setting, for this picture, but in also writing a fanfic of a fanfiction of a fanfic of a fanfic, and that is a level of meta that should be an SCP.

Well…the eggs have produced a pseudoplacenta, so they’re safe and growing and not interfering much with his biological functions, save that they taking up space and nutrition. And that’s fine–mommy chrysalis is making sure he gets an ample nutritious diet thats high in calories and everything both him and a clutch of growing hatchlings need in development (they need actual physical nutritients as they grow, in addition to love). As for love, they get that in plenty–mommy and daddy couldn’t be in more love with each other and their growing family. Birth is going to be…undignified. But Mommy Chrissy will help him through it.

I daresay GMHA is astonished by how much love he is feeling, constantly, because it’s stronger and deeper than anything else he’s ever experienced in his entire life. Which is one of the reasons Chrissy is so taken with him–he’s like an out-of-control nuclear pile of love, it’s going to last the rest of his life, and it’s a feeling which she sincerely returns. He’s both a dearly beloved husband and father, and a massive standing power generator, one which could amply feed a hundred hives and never run down or tire. And he’s going to live for thousands of years, with this power coursing through his veins every second of it. A human-changeling hybrid. The Hive King.

I kind of envy him.

That’s pretty weird, but also very cute at the same time, so it fits perfectly with a Badumsquish pic.
 
I for one would love to incubate Chryssi’s eggs anyway. The snuggling badum’s version would give me is icing on the cake, and if it resulted in me having flight, immorality and/or magic, that’d be the whipped cream with cherries on top.

“I don’t know why, but I feel so…good. Like, the most content I have ever imagined it’s possible for someone to feel.”
 
“Endorphins and oxytocin, dear. Your body is being flooded with hormones right now.”

“I can believe that. I feel like I’m at peace. With everything.”

“No. But I think I’d like to find out. Because that sounds really good right now. In fact, I think it sounds like the most delicious thing ever in the history of anything. Why does it sound so good?”
 
“Hormones, again. Do you want to try it? Because I think I can arrange that, if you’d like.”
 
“God yes. I ate an onion with peanut butter for breakfast. I can’t believe it tasted so good. Why did it taste so goooood?”
 
“Heh…hormones, again.”
 
“My breath has to be reeking of onion. I can taste it and smell it.”
 
“Oh, I don’t think it’s that bad, dear.”
 
“You said that after I drank a bottle of fish sauce with the anchovy filets. I don’t think you’re a good judge.”
 
“Well, maybe not, but I don’t mind. I admit I’m a little biased, at least where my big, handsome incubator is concerned.”
 
“And there I am crying again. Dammit. All I do lately is eat like a dumpster and cry.”
 
“Hormones again.”
 
“I’m like a big bag of fat, tears and weird cravings. How do you even stand me? I can’t stand me, and I’m me.”
 
“Are you serious? You’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life. And I’ve been around for a few centuries, I know what beautiful is. And nothing is more beautiful than my big, beautiful, fluffy stallion incubator right here. Trust me on this, I’m an expert on these things.”
 
“Your big, beautiful, fluffy stallion incubator who found out this morning he can levitate small objects, like jars of peanut butter. Glowing fingernails and all.”
 
“Oooh…some of the changes are finally soaking into your tissues, then? That’s great. Our babies are just making sure their Poppa is a good, strong father figure.”
 
“And I noticed I’m a bit…taller. Like an inch.”
 
“That’s to be expected. You’re going to be surprised what you look like in a few months. Pleasantly so. Hive Fatherhood has many, MANY benefits. Like an enhanced lifespan…”
 
“I’m going to live longer?”
 
“As long as I, my handsome prince. And I was old when this land was still new. And some of the other benefits are, shall we say…pleasurable.”
 
“I’m going to be a father. With telekinesis. And immortality.”
 
“And antennae, maybe wings…”
 
“Wait, you’re kidding. I’m going to be able to fly?”
 
“We’ll arrange for some flying lessons, when they grow in. And after you have this batch of younglings, of course…”
 
“I just felt one of them move. Just a bit.”
 
“Ohh, let me feel–oh my, she’s active and awake.”
 
“Awake? Like, she knows where she is?”
 
“Sort of. It’s not very sophisticated yet, but she’s aware. Let he let you feel what she’s feeling…there.”
 
“Oh my…oh my god, she’s there. She’s there and she knows me.”
 
“Isn’t it great?”
 
“I’m crying again.”
 
“Hormones again, dear. Just let me hold you.”
 
“…k.”
 
“We’ll try the chocolate caviar later, if you want.”
 
“Oooh.”
