As much as I ship Rarity and Spike (I’ve drawn my share of fanart and faved even more on DA), the age gap between them was never lost on me. Realistically, I have always been aware that Spike was too young for Rarity, which is why I had always hoped that there was some sort of time-skip, which would allow them to be officially paired together.
And while the show left things open-ended with Sparity (contrary to what some think, ‘Dragon Dropped’ didn’t sink the ship at all), the series finale definitely did a time-skip. Therefore, the possibilities for a romance between these characters became much greater.
That being said, I absolutely LOVE this picture!
