There would have been a joke by now if Lily and Spike had done it. This comic relies on subtext.

^ You call it context or a contest but I see a love triangle. And those only go certain ways in stories; lucky it a peaceful way here. Overall it’s just fun to speculate. I like Lily enough to be happy if she gets Spike. The back and forth on this love battlefield is a major draw for me.
You’re assuming that they don’t off-screen. Lily isn’t a flirty, unlike Starlight, and that doesn’t mean that she won’t “win” Spike. And seeing this as a context of who will win someone else doesn’t sound like the right mindset to have with romance.
Maybe so but even Spike has those thoughts even if he’s only notices things. Wouldn’t be a bad thing for Lily to express this side of her if only once.
Maybe she’s just much better at controlling herself than Starlight is.
Her mind never even had a sexual thought so Lily is either just too pure or isn’t interested in Spike to that capacity.
I don’t see how this shows she can’t.
Lily will never be able to go all the way with Spike.
